Biography

The short version, for hosts and event planners.

At twenty-four, Suzanne Taylor-King was running a chain of five retail stores. A supply chain crisis that threatened the whole operation taught her the lesson that has shaped every business since: hard work without a system underneath it has a ceiling.

In the three decades that followed, she built and exited multiple ventures and coached founders and executive teams across dozens of industries. Different surfaces, same question underneath: what scales without the founder in the room?

Her work sits at the intersection of business strategy, systems thinking, and an idea she has carried since twenty-four: eudaimonia, the Greek word for a life well lived, where what you do and who you are stop being two different things.

She calls that body of work Eudaimonology, and it runs through everything she builds with clients: businesses designed around what is genuinely distinctive about the founder, instead of a generic playbook bolted on top.

Suzanne hosts the Unlock Your Way with STK podcast, writes The Idea Lab on Substack for over 7,000 subscribers, and leads The Expansion Lab, a community of entrepreneurs doing the work together.

A business is not what its founder does on their best day. It is what runs reliably on their worst one.

Signature framework

Eudaimonology

Most business advice teaches tactics. Suzanne works at the level underneath: the alignment between who a founder is and how their business runs. When those two things fight each other, no amount of strategy fixes it. When they match, growth stops feeling like force.

The problem she solves. Most founders do not have a strategy problem. They have a default-mode problem. They are running someone else's playbook, measuring themselves by output, and wondering why success feels like exhaustion. The invisible ceiling is not effort. It is architecture.

How it works. Eudaimonology starts with what is genuinely distinctive about the founder: their strengths, their values, their way of seeing. Then it builds the operating structure of the business around that, so good work happens automatically and the company runs on who its founder is instead of in spite of it. The result is co-created, runs in the client's voice, and survives Suzanne leaving.

Philosophy

Three convictions under everything.

i.

The status quo is rarely the right answer.

Most businesses do not have a strategy problem. They have a default-mode problem. The work is challenging the assumptions that have quietly become the operating model.

ii.

Your unique strengths are the leverage point.

Generic playbooks produce generic results. The companies that pull away build their operating model around what is genuinely distinctive about their founder, team, and position.

iii.

The work is co-created, not delivered.

Suzanne does not arrive with a binder. She arrives with a methodology, then builds the actual system inside your specific business with you.
